HYDRAULIC ENGINEER

As a Hydraulic Engineer, you will play a key role in the development, hydraulic calculations and design, and implementation of piping networks and related water infrastructure. You will ensure that all hydraulic systems are designed, analyzed, and constructed efficiently, on time, and in compliance with applicable international and local standards, safety requirements, and project objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform hydraulic calculations for piping networks using EPANET and other industry-standard tools
  • Develop routing and pipeline profile drawings, Bill of Quantity (BOQ) ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with design requirements. Procedures, Manuals, Technical Specifications and design commentaries and for hydraulic networks
  • Evaluate and mitigate the effects of water hammer and other transient events, designing protective measures such as surge vessels, air valves, and relief systems
  • Analyze steady-state and transient hydraulic events, including pressure fluctuations, flow variations, and surge scenarios
  • Review technical documentation, identify discrepancies, and provide recommendations for corrections or optimization
  • Ensure reliability and accuracy of technical documentation, including Terms of Reference (ToR), Scope of Work, and design reports
  • Optimize hydraulic solutions during the detailed design stage to improve system efficiency, safety, and constructability
  • Coordinate hydraulic system design with civil, mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to resolve interface issues (e.g., crossings, pits, chambers, trenches)
  • Verify the consistency of ToRs, Scopes of Work, and technical commentaries related to hydraulic networks
  • Contribute to the preparation of tender documentation and evaluation of proposals related to hydraulic works
  • Communicate with design organizations and contractors to ensure hydraulic design deliverables are provided on schedule and in line with project requirements
  • Provide technical support and engineering consultation during construction, addressing on-site hydraulic issues
  • Review and approve hydraulic design documents, ensuring they are aligned with international standards and industry best practices
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, technical standards, and safety regulations for hydraulic networks
  • Supervise the execution of hydraulic engineering works and provide guidance to junior engineers or support staff
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in hydraulic engineering and apply innovative technologies to project designs
  • Mentor junior mechanical engineers and support team knowledge development (if applicable).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Hydraulic Engineering, Civil Engineering (with hydraulic specialization such as Water Supply and Sewage or Heating External Networks), or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in hydraulic network design, pipeline engineering, or related water infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic principles, piping systems, and both steady-state and transient hydraulic analyses
  • Proven capability in performing hydraulic calculations using EPANET (mandatory). Zulu, Mike+ or similar is a plus
  • Experience in developing routing and profile drawings for piping networks
  • In-depth knowledge of water hammer phenomena and protective measures against surge effects.
  • Familiarity with international and local codes/standards related to water and hydraulic networks
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; experience with specialized hydraulic simulation tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions

PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST (CONTRACT)

The position will be responsible for assisting in all stages of purchasing contracts, including initiation, implementation, and execution. It involves assessing contract execution in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. The position will support and report to the Contract Manager and collaborate with operational teams to mitigate risks of all types and ensure that all stakeholders meet their contractual obligations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and issue purchase orders for both one-time and recurring purchases
  • Assess suppliers’ performance based on price, quality, delivery time, and quantity to ensure alignment with purchase orders
  • Maintain and update the supplier and inventory databases, creating new vendor profiles and updating item cards as needed
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation for company vehicles, including tax, insurance, and annual check-ups
  • Assist in preparing tender documents and maintaining procurement related records
  • Perform other duties within the Supply Chain Department as necessary

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide training, information, and awareness on Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) at workplaces, mines, and project sites; organize and deliver training sessions; monitor compliance; develop knowledge and skills; and promote accident and risk prevention
  • Organize HSE training in compliance with the Mongolian law on HSE and the MNS:4969:2000 standard, and implement basic HSE regulations at the organizational level
  • Implement HSE training policies, plans, and programs
  • Conduct induction, refresher, and specialized HSE training sessions for all employees working at mines and project sites
  • Prepare and update training manuals and presentations in accordance with HSE laws and Orano Group standards (MNS, ISO, OHSAS/ISO 45001, etc.)
  • Deliver practical training and lessons reflecting real workplace risks
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and assess knowledge levels through pre- and post-training tests
  • Conduct post-incident training sessions (in case of accidents)
  • Collaborate with external training organizations to deliver required training
  • Prepare and distribute HSE-related materials such as information sheets, posters, and videos
  • Prepare training facilities and materials, ensuring compliance with standards

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HSE within the mining or construction sector
  • Previous experience as a trainer is an advantage
  • Knowledge of HSE laws, rules, regulations, and international standards (e.g., OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001)
  • Knowledge of HSE standards, rules, and procedures, with the ability to train and instruct the workforce

  • Strong understanding of political, regulatory, economic, social, environmental, and technological trends relevant to the company’s operations
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills to effectively promote strategies within the company and externally.
  • Demonstrated experience working with communities, local and national government bodies, NGOs, and other external stakeholders.
